About Great Writing

Great essays require carefully-crafted paragraphs.  Great paragraphs require well-structured sentences.  Great sentences require good grammar and attention to detail.  By offering instruction from the 'bottom up' – from the simplest sentence to the deftest essay – this course can  help your child become a better writer and reader of the English language.

Great Writing is a comprehensive writing program that utilizes National Geographic's Great Writing series to inspire and guide students as they develop their writing skills. The course consists of a series of modules, each focusing on specific writing skills and writing genres. Each module will include reading assignments, grammar practice, in-class discussions, writing exercises, and constructive instructor feedback. 

Great Writing is a series of six books, each tailored to students of different English proficiencies, writing abilities, and grade levels.  It works wonderfully as a 1:1 or group class for ESL and non-ESL students.
